The Story:
Margaret G. Washburn has practiced law in Gwinnett County since 1983. Margaret is a former Lt. Governor for Div. 19 of the Georgia District of Kiwanis and received the award for Outstanding Division in 2007. She is the Chief Judge for City of Sugar Hill. Her office represents clients in tough domestic cases, work related injuries and criminal matters. She is an award winning newsletter editor and has been recognized by her peers and in the community.

How I Got Here:
I graduated Emory University School of Law in 1979. I was a state prosecutor in DeKalb County and went into private practice in Gwinnett in 1983. I am a past president of the Gwinnett County Bar Association and of the Council of Municipal Court Judges of Georgia.

What I Do for Fun
:
I have attended the US Open in New York and Wimbledon in London. The French Open and Australian Open are next. Spending time with family and friends, playing tennis and reading good books always works for me.

My Big Dream:
Professionally: To continue to provide top notch legal representation and community service in the metro Atlanta area. Family: seeing both of my sons graduate law school and enter this honorable profession. Personally: play tennis, play with the dog and travel.

What’s Next For Me:
My goal has been to provide top-drawer representation to our clients and make them as happy and whole as possible, given their difficult legal situations. We are focused on making 2010 a banner year for our clients.
